It is our staff who really make the difference by creating a safe, secure and happy environment that makes our young guests’ holidays so very special. Camp Beaumont is actively supervised by Camp Directors who work with us year round. Assisting them are over 40 senior staff members who have experience as professional educators, school-teachers, coaches and specialists in specific sports areas. Everyone at Camp Beaumont is very committed and just as happy to be at camp as our campers.
Every child is allocated a Group Leader who is responsible for the pastoral care of their young charges. They are very much like an older brother or sister and are with them from dawn through to dusk, making sure they are getting the most from their stay, are looked after and even that they brush their teeth at night! At the House! we have House! Reps who fulfil similar roles and are excellent at communicating with older teenagers, getting them involved, but also giving them the space they need.
Group Leaders are selected from universities throughout the United Kingdom and each year we recruit worldwide for quality individuals who possess the characteristics we consider necessary to excel at Camp Beaumont. These characteristics include patience, diligence, adaptability, enthusiasm and above all, a sincere desire to enhance the lives of the children they live and work with. In July, Group Leaders undergo intensive training at our dedicated Camp Beaumont Training Academy in Norfolk.
Our Instructors and Centre staff work at our centres year-round hosting school groups. They are qualified and trained to National Governing Body standards and also receive pastoral care, health and safety and risk assessment training. The staff/camper ratio is 1:3. The staff at Camp Beaumont have a sincere and deep commitment to the children, are wonderful role models and are just as excited to be at camp as our campers.
