Camp Beaumont Excursions

An essential part of English In Action is the excursion programme, which includes cultural visits to our most famous cities such as London and Cambridge, with all of their historical heritage, shopping trips to local towns, outdoor adventures like zorbing or white water rafting and “pure fun” trips to theme parks such as Thorpe Park.

Our English courses ensure that the students are prepared for these visits by pre-teaching essential language – what to say in a shop or the vocabulary for certain wildlife. The students are also given the background to landmarks e.g. why the Monument was built, or why Big Ben is named such. However, learning does not get left back in the classroom. Students are given tasks to carry out on their trip, like a quiz to complete about what they find. In this way, Camp Beaumont’s excursions are not just “a day out” but instead, a continuation of the learning programme.
